The rain and cold have worn out their welcome

What is it about cold rainy days that leave me feeling so...blah?

(Apparently, the weather is also taking a toll on my vocabulary.)

I have so many things on my "to-do" list that I'd like to complete before going back to work on Monday, but I just can't summon the motivation.

I thought maybe getting a little extra sleep might help and Jason even let me sleep in a bit this morning. And I totally would have. If the boys hadn't come to my side of the bed approximately 38 times asking me what channel their morning shows were on.

It's partly my fault, though. If I'd gotten it right the first time, they wouldn't have needed to keep asking. But I still don't know what channel is what here, so it was all one big early morning scavenger hunt. In my sleepy stupor. I could have gotten out of bed and changed the channel myself, but that would defeat the purpose of sleeping in, right?

(As if the purpose wasn't already defeated.)

The rain and the cold have turned up the cranky on everyone in this household. We desperately need some rainy day fun to brighten our moods. If you have a suggestion, leave me a comment!

  1. Hope it gets sunny soon! It's rainy here too and is supposed to be for the next 4 days. But I like dreary days. I also don't like ice cream. I know, I'm weird.

  4. I'm pretty sick of the nastiness, too. This morning, I took a 4-year-old to HEB. After getting out of the car, he promptly jumped into a HUGE puddle, completely soaking both of us. I don't recommend outings to HEB for you and the kids...because I can imagine that Cade is also a puddle magnet. Think of it this way, though...you could be at LVE today. ;-)

  5. I actually LOVE rain...it's smell,it's sound, the freshness of it. Sorry.
We have snow and lots of it! Most people are just plain sick of it.

Rainy days...make a big tent in the living room out of blankets draped over the furniture and a card table too.
Dig out the Lego and build a big house...altogether.
    Bake cookies together. :)

  6. Shaving cream on the kitchen table - kids will LOVE it - and it cleans the table nicely too!

(just make sure they don't eat it ;))

  7. I completely agree. As one of my fifth graders put it "Isn't is spring already? Where is this rain and cold coming from?"

  9. The Princess Nagger has been complaining about the rain we've been getting lately, too - she wants to go outside to play! :)

Found your blog through Little Miss Sunshine via Yaya...I'm enjoying my visit! :)

  10. Visiting via the Flip Flop Scavenger Hunt ....and I'm with you on the lack of motivation lately. Can't figure out if it's the weather or the time change or what, but it's frustrating!
